Looking for a work from home business opportunity
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
Everywhere you look today there is some kind of work at home business opportunity. It can be hard to figure out the good from the bad. In any type of business opportunity you must always do your homework about the company. You want to see their disclosure documents and any other relevant data such as growth rate, size, and the years in business, etc. you always want to be cautious and do some good investigation. The rules for what type of disclosure they have to provide depend on the type of the business. A franchise is required to offer more than just a regular business. It all can get confusing. First you will need to decide what type of business opportunity is for you. Do you want to start a business from scratch or do you prefer to buy into a franchise or take over an existing business?
If you are looking at a franchise or business then you will be investing in a proven and successful endeavor. The cost will be higher initially than if you started from scratch but you will have immediate income. Your job at this point will be to know the difference between a real opportunity and a scam. Stay away from those endeavors that promise to make you rich now or promise you large money making capacity with out having to work. Any real business is going to require work on your part to establish and see a good profit. You will want to conduct an investigation on the company you are looking at. You will want to be sure this is a legitimate deal and they have others who have succeeded. You can get information on what to look for by typing “investigating a business opportunity” into your search engine and see what comes up.
You will also want to directly call the company. Do not rely on their ads ad a promise that you will make money. Find out from the source of exactly what you will need in materials and services that you will receive to keep your business running. Get a list of all the buyers in your state and neighboring states and phone them. You want to ask them if they were satisfied with what they got, have they made any money, and did the seller live up to their promises. Call many, many people not just a couple. Many companies have paid people to endorse their products even though they are not good. So you want to hear from as many individual as you can to see if this is a good deal. You will also want to look to the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau. This will let you know if there are any complaints of impending complaints on the company. There is nothing wrong with digging up some dirt. It is your money and you don’t just want to toss it in the trash.

6 things to avoid when considering work at home schemes
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
You want to be careful when you work from home to not end up being scammed. There are six tips to recognize any scam. One needs to run through this checklist every time they consider an endevor. These are things you will want to avoid.
1. Any deal you do not completely understand. The big print might make absolute sense or get your attention. It is the fine print that will be the determining factor though. If you actually read the fine print you might be losing more than gaining. The more important your deal the more important it is for you to read and understand the terms. Ask multiple questions and get legal help if need be.
2. Any deal requiring multitudes of money up front. Don’t spend all at once. Make sure you will get what you pay for. You want to be sure that the golden egg in that basket is real before the scammer has your cash.
3. Any deal you are asked to do in a hurry or under the pressure of time. Time should not be important when making a business deal. Both parties will want to be sure they know exactly what they are getting into. If someone is trying to rush you in making up you mind it is because they don’t want to give you time to realize it is a scam.
4. Any deals with people or companies you have never heard of or know. The best reference is that if you have no clue whom you are dealing with you shouldn’t find out. Let people know that you will be checking out their business and background. This will keep them from being able to lie to you. Make sure you follow through and find out all you can.
5. Any deal that you are being manipulated or schmoozed into. If some one is trying to bully you, charm you to death, or anything else. Make sure to tell them you know what they are doing and walk away.
6. Any deal set up to look like a pyramid scheme. These scams are made to look like legitimate MLM and network marketing business but are illegal. The earlier people in the plan get paid with money taken from the new people. These companies have you spend thousands of dollars up front and claim you will be raking in the money in weeks.
The most important thing to remember is that if it is too good to be true than that is what it is, untrue. There is not a person on the planet that does not want to get rich quick. Some people do get rich quick, but not many. People who have more money than they know what to do with earned it over time with hard work. Or someone who worked for it willed it to them.

How to avoid work at home scams
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
Looking for those legitimate home business opportunities that are out there? They are really there, not all of them are scams. Make sure you always check with the Better Business Bureau before signing into any at home job. It is always better to find out about a scam before you have bought into it. Real businesses will be interested in what you are going to do for them. They will want to know that they will be represented in a becoming fashion that will make them more money in the long run from your success. A real company that is looking for affiliates will not SPAM your e-mail with offers. These are the tools of the scam artists out there. They send bulk junk e-mails hoping someone will, and they do, will fall for it.
The real companies will post the needs on sites that are relative to what they do and sell. You will go to a specific site of a specific company and it will have an advertisement to work at home. They will also expect you to seek them out and will probably not even bother with you till you make the initial contact. You will able to find other sources in magazines and books related to business or a specific type of business as well. Even when you do find that legitimate at home business opportunity you will want to look at their history. You will want to know the experience others have had working for them and check the Better Business Bureau for any complaints. Never just invest with out digging around for a while.
There are some red flags to be looking for when searching for a home-based work opportunity. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. You should be wary of any business that offers you unrealistic amounts of money for mundane tasks like stuffing envelopes. If someone offers you thousands of dollars per hour to do nothing of any value then there is probably a problem. Think about it, would you pay someone $1000 per hour to watch television and eat Cheetos? Not likely. Real companies expect real work done right not laziness.
Working from home does not mean you do nothing. If the company puts pressure on you to “decide now” or tries to force you to “buy now”. This is not a very good sign and is not legitimate. Real business owners want money but they want to know who you are and what you will be doing for their company’s name. They don’t want just anyone to be promoting them. Be wary of having to pay to get a job. You don’t have to pay the grocery store to work for them and it applies to at home jobs as well. More than likely this is a scam. Check your state agency to see if the previous buyers list is posted as required by law. If the company you are looking at doesn’t have one then don’t buy into it.

Can you handle working at home?
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
There are some special qualities that one must have to work from home to have a successful home-based business. You must be able to master self-control. There is no boss there to look over your shoulder and distractions everywhere. You need to have some self-discipline about those activities and actions you have to learn no to do. You don’t want to be eating all day and night because the refrigerator is right there. Spending all afternoon watching television wouldn’t be good if you expected to have the evening off. When that lump his in the after noon and the bed looks mighty inviting, try to resist he nap temptation. It isn’t as easy as one thinks to stay focused and productive.
Working from home means you still have to work when you don’t want to. The boring, frustrating, and scary work has to be done too. This skill is a must and essential for establishing and developing full self-control. You have to learn to stop behaviors that interfere with productive work. There is going to come the time when you will have to choose work instead of fun, boring tasks over exciting ones, and/or the frightening business calls verses the easy ones. There will be plenty of times that the bed will look more and more inviting. This is not because you are tired it is because you don’t want to do something.
When thinking work at home many people think of a peaceful place that is free from all the interruptions of corporate jobs. Any one who has ever worked at home will tell just how distracting it really is. Some days many people find it almost impossible to get anything done. The phone always is ringing, neighbors drop by, laundry needs to be done, the dog has to go out, the kids are screaming, there is always something to drag your attention away from the work you have to do. If you want to be successful as a work at home person you must master the art of working in small increments. You will also have to put on blinders and plant yourself in your chair and work.
You have to be one of those people who like isolation to be able to work at home. If you are one of those people who get energy by being alone then you can achieve productive work by being at home. You will also probably like the respite from constant people around you. If you are one of those people who loves the daily socialization work brings you find loneliness is not your cup of tea. To be productive and not feel so lonely get some online friends to chat with and leave the house frequently to stay focused. Only you can decide if working at home is lonely or peaceful to you.
The challenge of working at home takes courage and self-confidence. You have to have the courage to face all the rejection, unsteady income, no more planned routines, and no more water cooler babble. You are going to have to learn new things and stay strong. You will need self-confidence to help you to hold your head up high with pride. You will look and tell people when they ask what you do with out hesitation.

4 Things You Should Consider Before You Choose To Work At Home
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
There are so many people who dream about working from home and being their own boss these days. Just roll out of bed and drink their coffee while pondering through e-mails. There would be no commute, no one to distract you, and your focus will be impeccable. Not quite as easy as you might dream about. Being solely in charge of yourself and your time is not as easy as you might think. The over confidence and surprise of unexpected issues can cause great stress and confusion.
There is also the problem of being able to self-motivate with out the pressure of a boss on your back. Many people find themselves more distracted and less productive when left to their own demise. When you work from home you are responsible for managing your own time. To organize yourself better and get more done try the following tips to successful time management as your own boss.
1. Make sure you have a separate work area in your home. This does not mean that you have to have a complete office in a private room. Just make sure you have a desk and all your accessories in a corner of one room. This will be your defined work area and everything you need should be in reach.
2. Learn how you work best. You really need to find the best place in your home that will make you the most productive. Make sure you are comfortable but not distracted by outside influences.
3. Be mentally ready to take on specific tasks. Make sure to plan your workday to fit your energy level. Be realistic on what you can accomplish. If you are a morning person then do the hardest things in the morning hours. Make sure to value your personal commitments these will give the breaks you will need to clear your head and get energized.
4. Make sure you have the time to accomplish tasks by setting specific business time hours. Most people just figure that because you are at home you are available. This is not true. Interruptions are the biggest problems with the self-employed. Make sure the people know when you are to be working and not to call, IM, or e-mails you. Put the hours you are available to and from on your web site to allow customers to know when you will be there physically. Also let friends and anyone not business related know that during this time frame you will not be available for social calls.
Realize that this way of working takes a lot of negotiating, planning, and prioritizing. No matter what you do you will get that personal call or drop in while you are trying to work. You will also get that business call or e-mail after your specified hours. It happens to everyone. Don’t stress out. Take the emergency approach. If this is a personal or business emergency deal with it immediately. If it is something that can wait till an appropriate time then let the person know.

Internet home business
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
There are three important things to consider when running an Internet home business. All will help to increase the fair market value of your company. A web site is a great source of advertising and distribution for a home Internet business. The name of the game is cash flow and one needs to know how to generate this in the virtual world. How will the World Wide Web help out your home business and gain you some cash flow?
Expand markets and increasing sales. The Internet gives the business owner a chance at a much broader market area. There are no more geographic restrictions to hold you back. Simply just building a web site won’t automatically grant you more business. You will need to market to your targeted audience to gain more business. Once properly marketed a web site is a very effective way to reach new and current customers. This can truly make sales a great thing. The web provides the company with a 24 hour per day 7 days a week brochure to be viewed at the client’s leisure. A professional looking web page is of the utmost importance. It is the client or potential client’s first view of who you are and what you do. You will want to utilize Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to increase the traffic onto your site and get better and higher ratings. This will make sure your web site is in the first few pages of search results. You can also hire a consultant to help you with marketing if you don’t know what you are doing.
Maximize your profitability. Using the Internet will also allow you to increase your profitability. Not to mention streamline automation in your home business. It will be easy for your customers to order replacements parts, refer friends and family, and order new products you carry faster. You will only be a click away from a sale. You will be able to use e-mail to show off new products and give your customers coupons. Make sure to have a spot on your web site that allows the customer or potential customer to fill in their name and e-mail address. This will allow you to give them promotions and newsletters regularly. The more they see and hear from you the better off you will be and the more you will make.
Increase customer retention. The Internet also provides a great amount of customer contact and support. Being readily available for immediate response to your clients makes them trust and respect you. They will want to do business with you again. Also the content that you provide your customers with will also keep them coming back to hear the latest news and learn more. This is a great way to keep customers visiting till a new product is introduced. They will be more likely to buy from you again if they got to read about the benefits and have faith you will be there for them.

I was just checking one of my sites and my eyes flashed to the Google Toolbar because I saw something I like seeing when I'm visiting my own sites - a rather big green bar. Looks like Google has released a PageRank update tonight because one of my new sites (registered March 30th) has PR4! No wonder it has been getting a good amount of visitors from the search engines lately ;)
Even though PageRank isn't the only factor Google looks at when ranking websites it's still one of the most important ones. So, when you're deciding whether or not you want to exchange links with another site you shouldn't only look at their Page Rank.
You should also see if this is a quality page and if it fits with your market/audience. You also never know if Google has already registered this page as PR4 or even PR5 although they don't show it on the Google toolbar.
Web Site Promotion Ideas for Small Businesses
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
You’ve already figured out that your small business needs a web site to compete with the big boys and maintain every aspect of your relationship with your customers. But once you have your web site up and running, you’ll need web site promotion ideas so that people know about your web site. After all, no one will visit your web site if they don’t know it exists.
The first of your web site promotion ideas is submitting your web site to all the major search engines. Search engine traffic is a major draw to web sites and most web masters will tell you that the vast majority of their traffic is coming from search engine clicks. Most of the major search engines have a specific page you can use to submit your site. Once it’s submitted, it will usually take a few days to a week before it starts showing up in keyword searches.
Other web site promotion ideas include advertising your web site on internet message boards and discussion forums centered on subjects related in some way to your business. For example, if you run a small business selling pet supplies, you could go to message boards and discussion forums frequented by pet lovers.
Other tried and true web site promotion ideas include affiliate and banner exchanges. You can contact other web sites involved with the same target market and ask to exchange banners on each others’ web sites, or you can sign up at a banner exchange portal that will automatically generate banners for other sites on your site and banners for your site on other participating sites.
For even more web site promotion ideas, there are many online resources dedicated solely to teaching people how best to create awareness of their web site through the internet at large and strategies for attracting more visitors to their web site. Start with these basic ideas and when you’re ready, explore for more!

Top Networking Marketing Opportunities – Is There Such A Thing?
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
Top networking marketing opportunities, also known as multi-level marketing opportunities, run rampant on today’s Internet. You’ve no doubt received some kind of solicitous e-mail or seen some kind of advertisement in the margins of a web site you’ve visited that talks about amazingly easy ways to earn thousands of dollars with a simple home based business.
The truth behind many of these “top networking marketing opportunities” is that they are using the sign-up fees from new members to pay dividends to existing members rather than actually generating any revenue from legitimate products and services. So no matter how much money they promise to make for you, if you can’t see any discernable product or service of value involved in the opportunity, you can assume that this is one of those “top networking marketing opportunities” that is actually an out and out scam.
The truth is that for many of these top networking marketing opportunities, only one out of every fifty or a hundred people who get involved actually make the kind of returns that the opportunity dangles as a carrot in front of you. In fact, the actual numbers might be far less than this. It’s never as simple as “pay for the secrets and start raking it in right away.” Anyone who does make returns on these so-called top networking opportunities work hard to sign up plenty of other affiliates, many more than the “it’s so easy” testimonials make it sound like you need.
When you come across one of the “top networking marketing opportunities” on the internet, guaranteed to help you retire and live easy within a year, be wary. Do your research and find out what people who have been involved in these opportunities actually have to say about their results. Make sure you research these opportunities on objective third party sites, not testimonials on the opportunity’s home page. Keep your common sense, and good luck!

Tips For Avoiding Home Business Scams
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
Anyone with a modicum of common sense knows that all those too good to be true solicitation e-mails and ads you see in the margins of high traffic websites for making thousands of dollars a week with no effort through a home based internet business can’t be for real. Yet there are still thousands upon thousands of people every year whose dreams of easy cash, early retirement and free living override their common sense and encourage them to invest in these home business scams. That’s why we’re offering a few simple tips for avoiding home business scams that can ultimately save you a lot of money, not to mention heartache and frustration.
The most obvious of tips for avoiding home business scams is to do your homework. For every home business scam floating around out there in cyberspace, there is someone who’s tried it and ended up bitter and disgruntled when they never received the tens of thousands of dollars in easy money they were promised. There are entire websites and blogs dedicated to exposing these fraudulent home business opportunities and providing tips for avoiding home business scams like it so that no one else ends up getting ripped off by crappy snake oil that doesn’t really work. So when one of these promising opportunities comes through your inbox and you get that little urge inside to give it a try, do a Google search for a few of the key phrases or the main concept and see what others who have already paid the entry fee to try it have to say about the opportunity. Try to look for testimonials on third party objective websites. It’s not a good idea to believe the testimonials on the websites of the opportunities themselves.
As far as other tips for avoiding home business scams are concerned, there are a multitude of resources all over the Internet that list which opportunities are scams and which ones have real income potential. Truly the best of the best tips for avoiding home business scams we can offer is to listen to the little voice inside yourself. If that voice is telling you the scam’s promises are too good to be true, then listen to that voice, because it’s probably entirely correct!

Easy Home Business Ideas for Finding Customers
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
What avenues are best to bring customers to you and increase your visibility? In this article, we will look at some methods that business owners have used for many years and have been very successful at increasing their customers and generating more revenue for their business.
A very effective way to generate business, thus increasing your profits, is to talk to people you know; friends, families, neighbors, hit the pavement, spread the word to everyone you know, especially those who like your business and the products you have to offer. Be creative; if one of your products is balloons consider going to all the restaurants in your area and make a deal to have your balloons given to the children who enter. When you go to businesses or friends take a few samples of your products to show them, leave your products with them so they can look at them while you are gone and then follow-up with them and find out what they think. Make them feel a part of your business.
Networking is a great way to make business contacts and you can do this almost anywhere that you go. Your local chamber of commerce often has networking functions where you can meet other business owners in your area. You can talk to them about their business and what works for them, exchange business cards. This is a great method for making contacts. After the social function make a point to go and visit there business, develop a relationship with them.
Take a walk around your neighborhood. This is a great way to meet new people in a casual environment and allows you to sell your product without really selling it. You will have an opportunity to find out what customers who are near you like. Will your product appeal to them? Should you tweak your products to match the potential customers that are near your area? Go into that coffee house that you may not frequent and spend sometime talking with the other customers. You will need much more than just a pretty web site, to competitively sell products online. There is a plethora of details that are entailed with the whole estore marketing place. The company must be able to set up and run a strategy or marketing campaign, ensure business gets to the site in the first place, ensure that the products can be sold, and tend to all the small details that involve returns, inventory, and the fulfillment of orders. This is not an easy task, especially if you are doing this all by yourself. It is always helpful if you have a partner in this endeavor. This will ensure that you are not flooded with things that must be done and become exhausted.
There are many options for an e-store and its development, you can go to a place like e-bay, or another option is NetSuite. With this service you can assure that your e-store will be a place that handles all kinds of product, has a vast and expansive catalog, and can deal with the heavy traffic it can generate. This is also a great option for companies that are anticipating return customers. You can deal with your online transactions and your offline transactions smoothly and efficiently, and get to the data or profiling that you need in a snap. With this data you can ensure that you will be on the top of the field when it comes to spotting new and improved marketing strategies and sales opportunities. This will also keep you close to the customers that spend the most in your business, keeping profits up.
Having a very convenient check out service and shopping cart icon allows for the easy control of what is being ordered and placed in purchase lists more often. This will in turn allow for a plan and keep this product readily stocked for future sales. When it comes to the sales aspect of the whole e-store, this program allows for multiple payment methods, which any good business owner is a must. By keeping the options for payment wide open, you then ensure the chances are much greater for a sale than if you have a couple difficult options that may not fit into the customer’s choices. It is a good way to generate foreign sales as the conversion is taken care of and the payment options reach customers abroad as well.
NetSuite allows for immediate and frequent updating and refreshing to keep your catalog as current as possible for your customers. This will also enable you to keep sale on the higher levels rather the customer going elsewhere for the same product. This in all is a great tool to keep you in the upper e-store rankings and ensure profit for years to come.

Dealing with Pressure for the Home-based Business Entrepreneur
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
What is the most effective way to deal with the anxiety that a home-based business entrepreneur experiences? The quick answer is to realize that this is part of being a business owner and to learn to live with it. The anxiety will not go away over night and you may be experiencing it for many years as you look at the profit/loss margins that occur with starting a business and moving to a place where it is stable and successful.
Many people are drawn to the idea of being self-employed, not having to work for a boss and they think that there are many freedoms with this type of business. They sound find out; however, that this is not the case and they will actually be working long, hard hours for a few years as they try to get their business on its feet. The difference in being self-employed is that everything rests on your shoulders. When you were working for someone else, you had to deal with things you probably did not want to but the entire weight of the financial success of the company was not your concern – now it is. You are now concerned if there will be enough profit to pay your employees, your vendors, and your bills.
Remember that simply because you are feeling pressure does not mean your business is going to fail. It simply means you are now in business for yourself and are facing the same pressures that all business owners experience at some time or another. Anxiety is a great motivator. You may wake up and not want to work, you would prefer to make an early round of golf instead you realize that if you choose that you will only be making it more difficult for yourself and you will lose money as opposed to making money. I would actually be concerned if you started a new business and had absolutely no fears at all, that is being arrogant and has a great chance of leading to failure.
There is a difference in being confident about your business venture and arrogant. Arrogant is thinking nothing will go wrong and you do not have to make an effort or sweat over the financial affairs of your new business. So how do you deal with the anxiety? Make sure you have a financial plan. Talk to those who are involved in your business and make sure everyone knows the goals. Talk about the risks and whether-or-not, they are worth taking. Do not stick your head in the sand and pretend they do not exist – they do and you need to face them head on and when you do, your anxiety will lessen but will never completely go away.

Running an Online Business

What can you do when you have been running an online site home business for a couple of years but your profits are not as strong as you would like? One thing to do is to review that you are getting enough traffic to your site, if you are satisfied with this aspect of your business you might want to consider increasing your sales through the method of follow-up promotions. The beauty of this idea is that it does not necessarily bring more hits to your site but it does bring more people to your site that will buy more of your products and this will generate more income. If you have customers, at least 30 percent of them will purchase from you again and this number will continue to grow if you use the follow-up techniques that will are presented in this article.
Take a good look at your customer base and realize that you can have them buying many times from you than someone else if you follow-up with them. If they already like the product they purchased from you, there is a good chance if you offer them another product or a discount on what they already purchased, they will come back to your site and buy again, and then they will spread the news of your site to their friends. When customers like a product, they tell others. The more you follow-up and offer them items from your site the faster your profits will begin to increase.
One of the techniques used in the follow-up technique is to reward your customers for using your site and buying your products. In addition, you can reward them for referrals to others. Special notices that say thank you for their purchase or offering a small discount if they come back or refer your business to a friend are all great ways to increase your profit margin. Another technique is when your customer signs up at your sight are sure to send confirmation messages that their request was received though instead of simply saying, “we have received your request” add a little something extra in there. This is a great time to offer them something extra from your sight or a discount off there next purchase, be creative and you will be amazed at the responses you will receive.
The importance of this approach is to let your customers know that you are following-up with them to make sure they are happy with their purchase and that if they have any questions or concerns they can contact you. Do not overwhelm them with sales pitches let that are a secondary message. Make them feel like you really care about their satisfaction with your product.

Organizing your Home Business
Copyright © Hannes Johnson
http://www.WorkAtHomeMadeEasy.net
What is the best way to organize a home-based business? There is the option of having a completely separate room in your home that keeps business away from the rest of the family life but that is not as popular as it once was. Many families integrate their home business with their family life and do quite well with this type of arrangement.
One of the first considerations you should think about is how do you operate? You want your business area set up in a style that is comfortable for you. If you like looking out the window while you are working and you are very productive this way setting up your business space in a way that makes you look at a wall will not encourage you to work. In fact, you will more than likely find reasons why you cannot work. Do you like plants and artwork? Set this up in your space. It is important to make your business space reflect your personal style this will make you want to sit at your desk and work because you are comfortable there as opposed to dreading going to your work area.
Make your workstation the base of the work that needs to be accomplished but do not limit yourself not to be able to go and sit in your favorite chair or other places in the house to accomplish your work. Do not spread important documents all over your house. Dedicate an area to where those items will be kept. You do not want to feel like your business is taking over your life and that everywhere you look you see bits and pieces of it scattered throughout your home.
If you are a family that has small children at home it will be important to child-proof your office space and make it look unattractive for children so that they will not want to go and color pretty pictures on your financial papers.
Consider purchasing a laptop and cell phone, if you have not already, so that you are not always tied to your desk. Sometimes it is nice to go to a park and sit in the fresh air while you are getting work done.
Decide exactly how many hours you are going to work during a day or how many hours need to be dedicated to a particular project. It is very easy when you are working from home simply to work all day and into the night because your office is so accessible. You need to be able to set boundaries as to when you will and will not work. Take breaks, step away from your work, and go to lunch even if it is in another part of your house or in your backyard.
