I upgraded The Home Biz Blog to Movable Type 3.33

I finally decided to upgrade my version of Movable Type (the software running this blog) from 2.65 to 3.33 - The main reason was that I was just getting too much spam comments and trackbacks! I think I was getting somewhere between 20-60 spam comments a day - and that's not counting the comments that got deleted by the filters. Last year I posted that I had installed a plug-in called MT-Blacklist and even though it has been doing a pretty good job the spammers always find new ways to get through the filters.

Movable Type 3.33 has changed dramatically from version 2.65 - spam filters are included, tag-support and other things I have yet to discover - I haven't had time to play around with it yet ;)

But I ran into some problems while upgrading - like, wrong FTP transfer types, file permission, etc. - The Movable Type Community Forum was really helpful in solving those problems and hopefully everything is working alright.

I certainly hope all the old blog entries keep their current location - Google has indexed over 300 files on this blog and many pages have PageRank 2 - 3.

I might change the template soon to make it look a little bit more attractive - but right now I have just too much to do at school...
