You can get Gmail here because I'm giving out invitations - contest

A while ago I blogged about how you can get a gmail account pretty easily. Now when I logged into my Gmail account I noticed that I got 6 Gmail invitations. Because of that I want to invite some of my loyal subscribers and give them a gmail account. But I want to have a little fun... ;)

The first one to send me an e-mail to: hannes.johnson[at-sign]gmail.com will get an invitation. After that I'm going to have a contest:

To enter, make a post on your weblog about The Home Biz Blog with a link back to this site. The post can say anything you like - as long as it lets your readers know about this weblog and includes a link. After you've made the post, leave a comment in this entry with your post's URL and/or send me an e-mail: hannes.johnson[at-sign]gmail.com . If I receive over 5 entries I will randomly select a winner from all of the entries received.

If you don't have a blog you can post something similar on your website or in your newsletter if you publish one.

Good luck :)

(This idea was "borrowed" from the Business Opportunities Weblog which got it from The BlogFather.)

[ Update: If you're truly interested in receiving a Gmail invite please read all my comments below, especially the most recent ones. ]

Tom Crowe was the first one to send me an e-mail and I invited him to Gmail.

I haven't received any more request so there will be no contest. Gmail gave me 1 extra invitation so I have 6 remaining invititations that are up for grabs.

If you're interested in a Gmail account just post a comment here with your e-mail address or send me an e-mail to my gmail address: hannes.johnson[at-sign]gmail.com
- just replace "[at-sign]" with @ (this is just so no spam harvesteres pick up my address)

I've given out 10 Gmail invites so far and I've decided to stop for now.

I'm not giving out any more invites unless you can offer me something special (be creative). If you have an offer and/or if you want to join some of my programs, etc. let me know.

hi Mr. hannes!
i wonder if all these comments could be replied by your gratefulness

but i need a Gmail account as well!
thanx a lot

Posted by: sanya at October 29, 2004 12:28 PM

OK, to reply to Sanya's comment I want to let you all know that I have replied to most of the comments here by e-mail - and it's usually to say that I don't have any more Gmail invites at the momement (as I said in my previous comment here).

Gmail hasn't given me any more invites so I can't invite more people. But if I receive more invites I'll let you know.

If you are looking for Gmail invites you should check out http://www.gmailswap.com - if you offer something nice you can exchange it for a Gmail invite there.

The trick is to be creative - offer something unique, like a souvenir or a post card from your country, etc. Or if you have some special skills you can offer your service.

Good luck getting your Gmail invites. It's a very good service and I'm sure it won't be long until they open the floodgates and let everybody sign up.

I have recently viewed this "forum" of people wanting Gmail accounts. It seems that they are all grateful 2 simply ask u if u have any of these invites, although looking at the prerequisets, none of them seem 2 give a damn about supporting ur website, it would truly be a marvel if someone would put a decent reply in instead of(exact replica) :

would like a gmail account,thanks

Posted by: zachary521 at November 6, 2004 06:34 AM

Bit lame dont u think?! something more like:

Dear Mr. Johnson,

I am replying to the invitations that have been generously offered by you, im sure that you will find that your website has not only been shown on website but, that i have told friends and family that this is a great and resourceful website.

(studies shown that websites in which consumers have been happy only tell up to 5 of friends/family where as if they were unhappy over 20 people get told!)

I look foward to your reply in regards to the offer.

Yours faithfully,

Rhys

Now is that hard, i think not, it only took me 5 and a half minutes! Be a bit more grateful in your appreciation towards a great offer such as this one! and hopefully i havent offended too many people!

Posted by: Rhys at December 9, 2004 10:59 AM

Thank you Rhys for that comment. It was a refreshing change from all the "gimme gmail" blurbs.

...and guess what guys - I just sent him a Gmail invitation ;)

I have a very limited number of invites left and you need to stand out, do something special, be unique to qualify for an invite.

You could also register for a Plug-In Profit Site system:
http://www.workathomemadeeasy.net/freewebsitebuilder.html
- If you get a domain and follow all the steps there I will send you a Gmail invite (just send me an e-mail to remind me, or comment here).

Hello!

Did somebody say free? Ok, how about this. I just started a blog (still new to all this) and I will personally post a blog about how great you are on my new blog for a gmail invite.

If you act now, you can recieve, free of charge, glowing admiration from flocks of human beings when they read about your magnanimous personality (word of the day), your charming good looks, and winning smile.

And, as if that wasn't enough, by sending your next gmail invite to yours truely, you can also get eternal life, find the love of your life (unless you already have) and discover complete inner peace.

Sincerely,
paul

Hi!.. I am tired of not being able to get emails to my Thunderbird (Mozzilla), Outlook Express, Eudora; et all from my emails on Yahoo, Hotmail, Exicte. Seems that Gmail maybe the ticket to do so - but I am unable to get it - it looks like - unless someone such as you invites someone else!. So if you could - please let me know what I need to do to get it or at least something (Program wise) that will receive all of your POP, IMAP, SMTP, etc mails - if there is such a thing! and if not - why not?

- if you can't figure out this anti-spam filter then you're out of luck.

You can also be creative and do something for me, like design a logo (for some of my sites/this blog), send me a postcard from your town/country, send me a souvenir from your country, etc...

Posted by: Benjy at April 8, 2005 1:59 AM

First a little hint: If you really, desperately need a Gmail e-mail account you just need to send me an e-mail and explain to me in a few words why I should send you an invite.
- This will guarantee that I'll give you an invitation.

But since not many people take the time to do that and I have a few extra invites I've decided to be generous and just send invites to the next 10 people that e-mail me, no matter what.

So, if you are interested in having a gmail.com e-mail address just send me an email: hannes.johnson AT gmail DOT com
- I hope you'll be able to decypher this spam filter ;)

Posted by: liu at May 28, 2005 2:29 AM

So far, since my last comment (April 20), I've given out 9 Gmail invites to people that have sent me an email. Even though these people didn't have do anything else than ask for an invite in that e-mail many of them explained their situation, why they needed an Gmail account and one of them even taught me some simple Japanese! - That was so cool and that guy definitely deserved an invite.

Well, I still have some extra invites so I'm going to keep giving them away. But I would appreciate it if you put some effort into it - tell me a little bit about yourself or even teach me a cool language ;)

Just send your e-mails to: hannes.johnson (ATsign) gmail [DOT] com

Take care,
Hannes

Hi I would love a gmail account. I do not feel complete, somehow, without one. I bought a google bicycle shirt last month... don't you think they should have sent me an invite for that? Well, that wouldn't have really been me 'earning' an invitation, though, would it? OK how about another language lesson? Here's one you may not know: The word for invite in Esperanto is inviti. Remember Esperanto? Everyone in the 80's thought we would all be speaking that all over the world by now. Well, theres a headstart for ya. LOL.

If you could spare a GMAIL invite I would surely appreciate it.
