How to get a Gmail account
Because Google hasn't yet opened the floodgates and allowed everybody to join their Gmail service I'm sure some people out there are wondering "How do I get a Gmail account?" I just learned that you can get your own Gmail account pretty easily and without buying it on eBay for $1 ;) [actually people were buying Gmail invites for up to $200 a few weeks ago but the prices have drastically decreased]
Well, some time ago I read that some Blogger users got an invitation to get a Gmail account. I didn't think much of it then, I wasn't that eager to get a Gmail account and I only thought that it applied for people who created new Blogger accounts. But that is not quite the case, even though you got a Blogger account a long time ago, if you are an active Blogger user you might get a Gmail invitation. I decided to check my old Blogger account that I set up a long time ago - I haven't been very active recently but still blog through Blogger occationally. What do you know... there was a Gmail invitation waiting for me there :)
So, if you desperately want a Gmail account you can just set up a Blogger account, stay active by blogging every now and then and just be watching for that Gmail invitation in the Blogger "dashboard".
Another way to get a Gmail account is that if somebody that already has a Gmail account sends you an invitation. If I get any Gmail invitations I might give some of them to my loyal readers ;) But I could also trade them for postcards from Turkey, Sweden, Croatia.., virtual kiss, $10, a poem, my name in chinese, etc. through Gmail swap :)

I've given out 10 Gmail invites so far and I've decided to stop for now.

So, if you send me an invite in time I will be able to send you two invites of more! That's an increase of over 100%! This way you will be able to get a "return on your investment" :).
